The patchpanel is one of the basic components used in the construction of structured cabling. It is mounted in the rails of a 19″ rack. The same screws are used for assembly as for active devices. The purpose of the patchpanel is to terminate cables going into the distribution cabinet.

The RJ45 cat 6 UTP patchpanel ports are connected to the active device using patchcords of the correct category and design to maintain the correct connection standard. The cable is connected to the patchpanel using a dedicated crimping tool in accordance with Krone.
