Extralink 24J ADSS XOTKtsdD is a technologically advanced fibre optic cable which, thanks to its multi-tube construction (12 fibres per tube + fillers), is used for both in overhead lines as well as in conduits. It is characterised not only by high data transmission efficiency, but also by considerable robustness and flexibility.

Construction and materials

This cable is reinforced with a central bar made of fibre-reinforced polymer (FPR)which gives it exceptional mechanical resistance. Additional reinforcement is provided by aramid fibreswhich significantly increase its tensile strength. The use of optical fibres of the type G.657A1, characterised by a high degree of flexibility, allows the cable to be laid easily even in difficult conditions.

Protection and resilience

Protection against external influences such as moisture or vibration is provided by the hydrophobic gel filling for cable tubes. The whole is further protected by outer shell made of HDPE polyethylene, which is not only highly resistant to water and UV radiation, but also to extreme temperatures, up to 70°C. As a result, the ADSS fibre optic cable is perfectly suited to varying environmental conditions.

Installation facilities

The cable is equipped with two thin ropes (ripcord)which facilitates the removal of the outer shell, making the installation process significantly quicker and easier. Maximum installation stress of 3kN This shows the cable's very high resistance to torsion and pulling, which is crucial when installing in overhead lines on bays of up to 80 m.
