Description
VIRTUS V2 is a PoE switch, 16 10/100Mbps PoE ports with 1 Gigabit combo port.
The Extralink VIRTUS V2 is great for powering IP cameras, wireless access points or IP phones.
The VIRTUS V2 switch supports 4 modes of operation. In mode AI VLAN, ports 1-16 are isolated from each other, which can effectively stop broadcast storms and improve network performance. In AI Extend The effective data transmission distance and PoE power supply of ports 1-8 can reach 250 metres, which is extremely useful for powering cameras much further away from the switch. In AI PoE The switch automatically detects the operating status of the device and, when it detects that the device is malfunctioning, resets the power supply to the device. In mode AI QOS: video data will be processed as a matter of priority.
Power supply to devices via Ethernet cable
VIRTUS V2 supports standards IEEE 802.3af/at, automatically identifies devices that need PoE power, so it will not damage devices not powered via PoE. The total power budget for PoE ports is 150W.
The switch requires no additional configuration and is ready to use out of the box. The included mounting brackets allow the switch to be mounted in a standard rack.
Mode buttons
- AI Extend: Port 1-8 supports PoE power supply up to 250 metres. (Cat 5 or higher cable recommended)
- AI VLAN: Isolating ports 1-16 from each other, effectively stopping network storms and improving network performance.
- AI QOS: Priority for identified video data for smoother video transmission. A mode ideal for video surveillance.
- AI PoE: Automatically shuts down the power supply and restarts the device when inactivity (hangs) is detected.
