The Extralink poe power supply (power adapter) is designed to supply power via selected strands of twisted-pair cable to network devices such as media converters, access points, cameras, etc. The 24V 1A poe power adapter allows gigabit ethernet network data to be transmitted while supplying power in the same cable. This model enables gigagbit eth transmission, is a passive poe solution and is not compatible with the ieee 8023ataf standard. Unlike power supplies with a 5.5/2.1mm jack connector, the poe adapter allows gigabit poe devices to be powered directly, no additional network accessories are required.

The power supply has a 1.2 metre long power cable terminated with a cloverleaf type connector and has two RJ45 ports. One port is used to connect the device to be powered and the other is used to connect a patchcord to a switch or router. It can be installed in places such as living quarters, tele-technical rooms or rack cabinets.

An LED indicates correct operation of the device. In the event of tripping one of the protections: short circuit, overload, the power supply cuts off the voltage from the device. After the failure has ceased, the poe power supply restores the voltage automatically.
