Multipatchcord is a specific type of fibre optic patchcord. It is based on a fibre optic cable with multiple fibres. Often the cable has a UV-resistant sheath and can therefore be run both indoors and outdoors. At each end, the cable has connectors in the number corresponding to the number of fibres in the cable. The type and type of connectors is selected according to the needs of the specific installation.

In order to facilitate the installation of the multipatchcord, whether through drillings in the wall or the patchpanel inputs themselves, two types of splitting are possible - cascade or straight. In cascade splitting, each connector in the splitting is made on a cable of different lengths.

Multipatchcord simplifies and speeds up the connection of points. It is ideal for connecting two patchpanels located in different cabinets, e.g. in adjacent rooms.
