PoE converters
What are PoE converters?
PoE converters are devices that allow electrical power to be transmitted along with data over a standard Ethernet cable. With PoE technology, power and data can be sent to devices such as IP cameras, access points and VoIP phones without the need for separate power cables. PoE converters are key in network installations where simplicity and efficiency are important.
What types of PoE converters are there?
- PoE injectors - devices that inject power into the Ethernet cable, allowing power to be transmitted to network devices that require it. They are ideal when you need to power your devices but don't have access to an electrical socket nearby.
- PoE Splitters - devices that receive PoE power and split it into a voltage suitable for devices that are not PoE-compliant. With splitters, older devices that require traditional power but use Ethernet can be powered.
How do I choose the right PoE converter?
- Application and type of device: If you need to power a network device using an Ethernet cable but do not have access to an electrical outlet, select the Extralink 1-port PoE inverter. This PoE injector allows power to be supplied to a 10/100/1000 Mbps network via an Ethernet cable, which is ideal for powering IP cameras or access points.
- Input and output voltage: Ensure that the converter is compatible with the required voltage for your equipment. It is important that the converter is not only efficient but also reliable for long-term use.
- Compatibility with devices: If you have a device that is not PoE-compliant and requires a lower voltage, select the Extralink Splitter PoE Converter 48V - 12V 1A. This splitter converts 48V to 12V, so you can power devices that require traditional power but are connected to an Ethernet network.
- Ease of installation and operationIf you want simplicity, choose a converter that offers easy installation, such as Extralink Splitter PoE Converter with plug & play functionality. Such solutions are convenient and quick to set up, saving time and avoiding technical problems.
